What factors affect recovery from COVID-19 in patients with MS?

A new study has identified factors that influence recovery from COVID-19 in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).

“It is important to understand the recovery process from COVID-19 among patients with MS, to identify those who are most vulnerable to the long-term sequelae of infection,” said Dr Afagh Garjani of the University of Nottingham, UK.

Dr Garjani and colleagues surveyed 598 patients in the UK MS Register with a self-reported or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. The UK MS Register prospectively collects data on patients with MS, including web-based Expanded Disability Status Scale (webEDSS) and Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HADS).
